Annette Given is a highly experienced Practice Manager. She has a BA (Hons) degree in Combined Business Studies and has had twenty years’ experience of management in the NHS and voluntary sector including eight years in general practice management. She specialises in training, project management and consultancy in primary care and is particularly interested in organisational and individual development. Annette is a full member of the Institute of Healthcare Management and is an assessor for the Royal College of General Practitioners’ Quality Practice Award. |  |
Beatrix Maynard, has over 15 years management experience in the NHS. This has been gained in Primary Care Trust, Primary Care Group, GP Practice and hospital settings. She also has commercial experience from her work with Unilever and Clerical Medical Investment Group. Beatrix has wide experience in interagency and interdisciplinary strategic and service planning, business planning and business case development, commissioning, performance management and project management. Her qualifications include an MBA and she is a Registered PRINCE 2 Practitioner. She is also a member of the Institute of Health Care Management, The Royal Institute of Public Health and the Hotel and Catering and International Management Association.

Terry has achieved a Strategic Management NVQ at Level 5 and holds a BSc (Hons) and MA in Social Policy. She is a qualified social worker and social work practice teacher, as well as an NVQ assessor. Terry has an excellent track record in managing voluntary organisations, developing teams and offering training. As a consultant, she has managed and delivered a range of consultation, research and evaluation projects with not-for-profit organisations, particularly in the fields of social care and adult learning. She also has a longstanding interest in quality and performance standards issues. |  |
Diana Sanderson, has worked as a Health Economist for almost 18 years, initially at York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC) at the University of York and latterly working on a freelance basis. During her 16 years at YHEC she worked on numerous consultancy, research and evaluation projects, for a wide range of national and local health and social care organisations. She has a strong interest in services for older people and is currently completing a review of Supporting People-funded warden and community alarm services for older people in Council-owned sheltered housing in the East Riding of Yorkshire. In 2005 she completed an evaluation of a home support service for older people with mental health problems for Community Links, a Leeds-based voluntary organisation. Working as a freelance has enabled her to broaden her range of interests to include housing provision and she has recently undertaken the economic analysis for a project on retirement communities funded by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation with colleagues at the Centre for Housing Policy at the University of York.

Meg Abdy works primarily in economic regeneration and voluntary sector policy. Much of her regeneration experience is in the North East, where she was Director of the Durham City Vision programme. She also managed the University of Durham Cultural Strategy, recommending a range of outreach services and facilities stretching far beyond the ivory tower into the regional community. For One NorthEast she co-wrote 'Home-Based Working in the Rural North East', which suggested radical new ways of supporting home-based businesses in remote rural areas. Meg has also carried out place-shaping work in Blackpool, Gloucester, Leeds and Basingstoke. Within the voluntary sector, Meg has set up a series of consortium research and forecasting projects, including Legacy Foresight and Third Sector Foresight. Her consultancy work focuses on strategic planning, social innovation and intelligent funding. Recent projects include a report on “Foundations for Organisational Development”, a 'blueprint' for a Third Sector Leadership programme for the Clore Duffield Foundation and advising the Kings Fund and NESTA on their funding programmes. |  | Following permanent posts in strategy and business planning at the RNIB, RNID and NSPCC, Jean has been a freelance consultant since 1999 and has combined project work with interim Director roles at The Long-Term Medical Conditions Alliance, The Refugee Council and Groundwork UK. Jean has worked with a wide range of third sector organisations, including many large UK charities, such as Macmillan Cancer Support, Shelter and British Red Cross. Jean’s multi-disciplinary approach covers most areas of management and governance, including social enterprise. An experienced facilitator, she combines extensive experience of evaluation and business analysis with a customer-focused approach to development of plans for the future. Jean has an MSc in Charity Finance (with distinction) and a BSc in Economics. She is a Visiting Fellow at London South Bank University, an Associate of CASS Business School, Chair of Charities Evaluation Services (CES) and a Non-Executive Director of West Sussex PCT. |
