Procurement of New Primary and Social Care Premises

Identifying the most appropriate and best value provider of new primary and social care facilities is a complex process and PCTs often have limited management capacity or a lack of specialist expertise.  Knowledge of procurement law, financial modelling, planning regulations and design issues are essential skills when procuring new facilities.

Over a period of ten years, Acton Shapiro has project managed a range of schemes from relatively simple GP-led buildings to 5,000 square metre 'one-stop shops'.  We have been commissioned by developers, PCTs and other primary care organisations to ensure value for money and the appointment of high-quality, reliable and experienced contractors.  We have also market tested commercial areas, such as space for a community pharmacist, within primary care developments, which have brought enormous benefits to the overall financial viability of many schemes.
