Practice-based Commissioning
The Department of Health describes practice-based commissioning (PBC) as being about "engaging practices and other primary care professionals in the commissioning of services. "Through PBC, front line clinicians are being provided with the resources and support to become more involved in commissioning decisions."
But GPs and their staff often don't have the time or other resources to prepare business cases and do the plethora of other behind-the-scenes work that is needed to implement this new opportunity successfully.
Acton Shapiro has both managerial and clinical staff who can help with the successful implementation of PBC at the coal face. We can provide a range of tools and guidance which have been tried and tested in areas throughout England.
