Acton Shapiro has many years of experience in working with GP practices in supporting them in their development.  Director Chris Acton was an Associate Partner and Practice Manager at a large GP practice before setting up Acton Shapiro and he understands the demands and pressures on practices.

In recent years we have been involved in working with practices in several areas of development, including:

• helping them to resolve partnership difficulties and improve financial performance
• assisting them in the appointment of a new Practice Manager or other senior staff
• project managing the development of new premises
• carrying out quality reviews of practices’ performance.

Facilitating 'Away Days'

It is well known that taking time out at least once a year for business planning can pay enormous dividends in the longer term.  Using an independent third party to plan, facilitate and write up the results of these events has enormous benefits.  One of these is that we are not 're-inventing the wheel' in terms of helping to set the agenda and finding the background information that is needed for making well-informed and evidence-based strategic decisions.
